Giorgio Koukl
Liturgy & chamber music

Giorgio Koukl (piano & conductor), various artists

Our second release of chamber music by international prizewinning composer, Giorgio Koukl, features the powerful Liturgy of St. John Crysostomos. This and the excellent chamber works were recorded by Swiss Radio and feature many fine artists from the area. Barry Kilpatrick wrote a very complimentary review of our first release of Koukl's music in the American Record Guide . Find it in Recent Releases .

"His music. . .has developed a thoughtful and attractive character and sounds thoroughly idiomatically written as well. . .a versatile, warm composer, with strong affiliations, with the clarity and precision of the French schools and the more rugged piety of the Eastern Church." - Jonathan Woolf (MusicWeb)

". . .while his work is not always strictly tonal, it is both intellectually challenging and delightfully accessable." - "Ricks's Picks" (CD Hotlist)

"Giorgio Koukl's music is a lively art, and this recording is an exciting, delightful introduction to [his] work. . .if the classical tradition is really under some kind of threat, it is not for lack of great talent. Koukl's musicianship and talent are at the ready; only give them play." - Karl Henning (The Berkshires' Arts Magazine)
